Lee is a corporate partner at Simmonds Stewart. Before arriving in NZ, he was a partner of a global law firm in Singapore heading up their corporate technology practice across SE Asia. He continues to advise tech companies and global VC funds on notable financing rounds in NZ and Asia. Simmonds Stewart is a leading corporate and commercial law firm advising tech businesses and investors, with offices in NZ and Singapore.

 

Craig Kirk – General Manager, Delta Insurance

With the increasing prevalence of global cyber contagions such as WannaCry and Petya, what is the potential impact on your business and how can Cyber Liability insurance assist as part of a broader risk management strategy?

Craig is a co-founder and Director of Delta Insurance. Prior to founding Delta Craig worked for a number of local and global insurance companies in NZ, Australia and the UK. Craig is also on the Core Working Group of FinTechNZ.

Delta Insurance is a Lloyd’s of London Coverholder and provides speciality insurance solutions for niche and emerging risks such as technology and cyber liability, environmental liability, professional and management liability and UAV (drone) insurance. Delta has offices in NZ and Singapore.

With banks not being the first port of call for capital for many tech businesses, Tim Wixon will discuss some ideas around how to approach a bank – generally being the cheapest form of financing for growing businesses, including as a business without tangible assets.

Tim Wixon, CFA, is a Commercial Partner at BNZ who specialises in supporting and funding high growth businesses, including, in the tech (among other) sectors. Tim’s background is in law and capital markets.
