Visit Tech AllianceDoes your business have a mathematical challenge to solve?
Kiwi innovation Network works to support the commercialisation of science and technology from NZ Universities and Crown Research Institutes. There is one initiative coming up called the Mathematics for Industry NZ (MINZ) being held in June where NZ’s leading academic mathematicians work together to solve challenges set by the business community.
We have currently three businesses contributing, Fonterra, Compac Sorting and Eyedentify, but we are looking for more – the sort of challenges posed in the past are varied e.g. Transpower – Modelling power output from correlated wind farms, Fonterra – Predicting how cheese matures, Fisher & Paykel – Dynamic washing machine balancing system modelling, Compac Sorting Equipment Ltd – Optimal sorting of product into fixed weight packaging.
