Building strong tech relations with India

The Hon Amy Adams, Minister of Communications, was in Bengaluru this Monday, 21st September, meeting with the GTech, the industry body that represents tech companies in the Indian state of Kerala.  She was accompanied by Grahame Morton, High Commissioner of New Zealand in India, Clayton Kimpton, Regional Director, NZTE – IMEA, and Kevin McKenna, Consul General & Trade Commissioner.

Renjith Ramanujam, Chief Executive of GTech, provided a briefing on the landscape of Kerala, the state economy, business opportunities and the local tech industry.  The discussions also included a conversation about the upcoming delegation from Kerala to New Zealand scheduled for October 27-29 this year.  The delegation that will be travelling to New Zealand will include Shri. P. H. Kurian, Principal Secretary (Industries & IT) from the Govt. of Kerala. He will be joined by the CEO’s of a number of Indian firms looking to invest in New Zealand or partner to provide a channel into the Indian market, including Acolade, Exalt, Experion, Ihits Technologies, Kerara Solutions, Mozanta, Neologix, Nocme, PIT Solutions, Polus Software and Techversant.

When they arrive in New Zealand NZTech, in partnership with NZTE, ATEED and the Indian New Zealand Business Council will be hosting an event to bring together the Indian delegates with New Zealand tech firms interested in investment or opportunities in the Indian market.
