Wellington based company, Solity Software New Zealand has won a substantial contract with Mexico’s agriculture ministry, Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería, Desarrollo Rural, Pesca y Alimentación (SAGARPA).
The contract will see the Solity platform working with the Mexican Government in Incident Response and Crisis Management, to enable common inter agency response. The aim is to reduce the impact of natural disasters, cybersecurity and terrorist attacks.
“We are delighted to be ambassadors of kiwi innovation, culture, social and intellectual ecosystem where success and unity of effort is possible,” says Solity’s Managing Director Israel Reyes, who founded the company in 2012.
“This is a big win for the New Zealand tech sector too, because our intellectual property is being valued and demanded overseas. It will also enable Solity to create employment opportunities and attract international investment,” he says.
SAGARPA represents and protects Mexico’s agriculture, livestock, rural development, fisheries and food sectors. Mexico’s annual growth is 21% or USD1.14 trillion per year according to the World Bank.
