Kia Ora Readers,
At our recent AGM we celebrated 10 years. This week, I would like to acknowledge our founding members who came together to create the organisation and remain members today! Celebrating a decade of membership are Augen, Fronde, Gen-i (now Spark), Hewlett-Packard (now HP Enterprise and HP Inc), IBM, Kinetics Group, Microsoft and Solnet Solutions. I would also like to thank organisations that joined in the following months and who continue to support after 10 years including Eagle Technology, NZHIT, NZTE, OneNet, Planit, Sentient Software, SwayTech, University of Auckland and Xero.
These 18 organisations have now been joined by over 1000 others to help make New Zealand more prosperous underpinned by technology. Thank you.
Last month, we welcomed the R&D Tax Incentive improvements. We are now seeking your feedback and views on these improvements for our submission. With your support and feedback we can make sure that we help the Government to continue improving this critical bill.
Tomorrow, I will be spending the morning with MBIE as we collaborate on the development of the new industry transformation plan for the digital sector as announced last month. It is very exciting to be working together to help identify the big steps needed to continue to support the growth our digital sector. In the afternoon, I have the Digital Skills Forum and govtech meetings.
If you know any fast growing, cool tech firms make sure they don’t miss an opportunity to raise their profile. Deloitte have extended the Fast 50 application deadline for NZTech members until Friday 9 August. The Fast50 is a showcase of our fastest growing firms and is an excellent alumni to be part of.
Have a great week.
