NZTech Inform –rebuilding together with tech

At the beginning of Techweek19, I shared my desire to clone myself, so I could attend even more events throughout New Zealand. This year I can, because travelling isn’t an issue with Techweek2020 being hosted entirely online.

Until recently, none of us had even heard of COVID-19, but within weeks, we were in coronavirus chaos. When the pandemic reached our shores, we quickly transitioned to working and learning from home by embracing technology.

As Alert Levels are slowly lowered, we will be navigating this global disruption for a long time yet. For how long, no one knows. What we do know is that New Zealand needs more tech, not less, to successfully rebuild together.

This year, our Techweek theme is “connecting our future.” We know Techweek is a great place to meet, share ideas and enhance our future world. Techweek2020 is an ideal digital platform for recovery, regrowth, economic stimulation and positive connections.

New Zealand is full of big dreamers, smart collaborators and innovators. This year we celebrate those people and their projects, giving everyone the chance to interact with new tech. Geography is not a barrier and I’m proud that Techweek2020 can reach every Kiwi. Our event calendar includes a diverse range of engaging webinars, hackathons, seminars, workshops and conferences.

One purpose of Techweek is to inspire people to consider tech as a career. We also work hard to help tech firms grow and export. Thanks to our event partners, Techweek2020 continues the tradition of showcasing our best tech success stories to the world.

If you haven’t already submitted an event, there’s still time. There’s no need to worry about booking venues and caterers, because digital events require different logistics and less expense!

Each year, we encourage events to help raise the awareness of the importance of technology in New Zealand. Now is the time to tell your story and share your journey.

Have a safe and productive week.
