Digital Council for Aotearoa New Zealand #weeknotes (11)

#

By Mitchell Pham, Chair of the Digital Council for Aotearoa New Zealand.

Catch up with Ministers

This week, our chair, Mitchell Pham, caught up with Government Digital Services Minister Hon. Kris Faafoi and Statistics Minister Hon. James Shaw to talk about our upcoming research report due later this month.

He talked Ministers through our early findings and how we plan to test those findings and capture the views of New Zealanders.

He also discussed an upcoming stakeholder engagement session on e-commerce and digital marketplaces we’re setting up in response to interest we’ve received from the business sector.

Ministers said they would follow our discussions closely and looked forward to reading and responding to our advice.

Stakeholder meetings

Last week we caught up with the team at Peddle NZ, a brand new e-commerce platform for Kiwi businesses to sell products online.

Peddle NZ is on a mission to make it easier for New Zealand businesses to market and sell products online using economies of scale and by offering both vendors and customers a high-quality user experience.

Insight from their extensive market research will help us prepare for future Digital Marketplaces stakeholder engagement sessions.

Blogging, events and social media

This week we published another #Weeknotes flagging our upcoming Techweek TV panel appearance (more details to come) and a new blog recapping on our June advice to Ministers and highlighting some of the big COVID-19 recovery announcements for small businesses.

Stay in the loop with our latest news and join the conversation on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Get in touch on either media and let us know what you think about our work and the topics that interest you.
