Today, I am attending BioTechNZ’s Medicinal Cannabis Summit, which signals the launch of New Zealand’s regulated medicinal cannabis market. This is New Zealand’s first conference on this high growth sector, combining medicine, science and technology. Tomorrow, I am facilitating the technology stream and look forward to showcasing local tech firms to the medical community.
This month, there is a huge number of scheduled events, including the Agritech Digital Innovation Week, plus events highlighting IoT, autonomous vehicles, agritech investment trends and open banking. Also, ahead of the 2021 introduction of a Digital Identity Bill, you won’t want to miss the Aotearoa Digital Identity Hui Taumata. November’s events all offer you the chance to meet others, be inspired and create valuable connections.
We’re also excited to announce that dates have been secured for Techweek2021. Clear your diary for 24-30 May and start thinking about how to get involved. Next year’s festival will be a mix of live, virtual and hybrid events, so there’s something to suit everyone. Submissions will open in late January and you can subscribe for Techweek updates here.
NZTech is currently seeking Board Internship applications. If you would like to gain governance experience, engage in industry and build networks, please seriously consider this opportunity. We introduced the internship in 2016 to bring a younger perspective to the Board. The internship provides a working knowledge of how boards operate, develops leadership and decision making skills. Expect to proactively engage in Board discussions and share your perspective. Applications close on 20 November.
