NZTech Inform – NEXT LEVEL!

Boost your online security this Cyber Smart Week

CERT NZ’s Cyber Smart Week is back with four simple steps to take your online security to the next level.

As our time online increases, so do the associated security risks. Even if you work in tech and think you are tech savvy, none of us are immune from cyber crime! We also encourage you to share the important messages with your family and friends to help keep everyone safe online.

CERT’s latest data shows that online security incident reports are up 48 percent from this time last year. These incidents are impacting our friends, family and workplaces. Just last week, a local health provider experienced a cyber attack that made news headlines. This reinforces the importance of accessing cyber skills in New Zealand, plus increasing our general understanding (which is what this week is all about!).

Following our last Cyber Security Summit in July, we have experienced heightened demand for more information.  We are currently in the process of finalising our next summit in March to provide further insights and knowledge.

Aside from cybersecurity, this week is strongly focused on agritech and sustainability, including the 2035 Oceania Summit. This two day Agri-Food-Tech event explores local solutions for global climate impact. AgriTechNZ also meets this week for a strategy day. Plus, what is the role of data and digital solutions in helping fight climate change? Join NZTech’s next Connect Event: Scaling digital sustainability on Friday in Auckland to learn more.
