InsurTechNZ continues to grow, welcoming Montoux and Dime as members and also Rob Ellis as a new co-chair. Rob steps into the role vacated by inaugural co-chair Dale Smith.
Local industry research from our members is always valued. Gallagher Bassett’s latest annual insurer survey, The Carrier Perspective: 2024 Claims Insights identifies the upcoming challenges and areas of focus for New Zealand’s insurance industry. The report identifies regulatory shifts, the integration of hybrid work models, and the impact of climate patterns as crucial elements that insurers need to prepare for in the coming year.
The research is timely, ahead of our next panel event on 9 May which will discuss applying big data to improve responses to weather and climate-related insurance events. This event will be hosted at Tower, please register here.
Your people can also apply AI and data to solve environmental and climate-related challenges by taking part in the AI Forum NZ‘s national hackathon for the environment, being held 8-11 August. Registrations open 8 May.
In March Grappler and Sentro attended InsurTech Week in London as part of the InsurTech Australia delegation. These companies, along with Open, all recently announced new United Kingdom (UK) customers, demonstrating the success of local early-stage companies in the world’s largest insurance market.
