Accelerating growth of tech in Aotearoa

Following last week’s Annual General Meeting I’d like to reiterate our thanks. The support, engagement and advocacy of our members is the driving force behind our work, which accelerates the growth and uptake of tech across Aotearoa New Zealand. Together, we’re not just advancing technology; we’re building a better tomorrow for all New Zealanders.

We’re excited to introduce our new board members, Victoria Lyons from Spark NZ, and welcome back Mahsa McCauley from AUT, Mitchell Pham from Code HQ, and Adrian Smith from Blink Pay. Plus, check out this year’s highlights and achievements here. We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together in the coming year.

Last week we also welcomed the Government’s establishment of a biotech regulator, providing a major boost for industries using gene technologies.

This week, I’m looking forward to presenting the 2024 Community Tech Champions Award at the CIO Summit. If you’d like to attend, access your 15% NZTech member discount with this code: NZTech15.

In other news, nominations for the IoT Alliance are now open and BlockchainNZ election results will be announced on 28 August. Voting for BioTechNZ’s Executive Council opens on Thursday. Congratulations to AgriTechNZ’s new Executive Council.
