Introducing our new Executive Council | September Newsletter

Kia ora,

As we welcome the vibrant energy of spring, we embrace a season of renewal and fresh beginnings here at Blockchain NZ. Just as nature transforms around us, so too does our commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within the blockchain community.

It is my pleasure to welcome our newly elected Blockchain NZ Executive Council members: Marc Krisjanous (Confide), Memoona Zareen (University of Auckland), Shu Su (AUT) and Sean Preston (Immersve). We’d also like to extend a warm welcome to Bryan Ventura as our new Deputy Chair. You can read more information about our new Blockchain NZ Executive Council members here and details of the full council can be found here. We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together in the coming year!

We are also excited to announce the return of the Blockchain NZ & Web3NZ Awards for 2024, celebrating outstanding individuals, startups, and companies that have made significant contributions to the blockchain and Web3 industry over the past year. These awards aim to recognise the remarkable individuals and companies that have propelled the blockchain and Web3 industry forward. Awards will be presented in two categories: Individual and Business, with five awards each for Blockchain NZ and Web3NZ members. The event will take place in Auckland on Thursday, 5 December. Keep an eye out for more details on nominations and voting, coming soon!

This is an exciting time for us as we look forward to new opportunities and initiatives that will not only advance our sector but also strengthen our connections with each other. Together, we can spark meaningful conversations and create pathways for collaboration that drive our industry forward.

Ngā mihi,
Jeremy Muir, Chair, BlockchainNZ
