Free webinars: Privacy experts share knowledge

We’re supporting Privacy Week 2025 (12-16 May), where the Office of the Privacy Commissioner is hosting 22 free webinars to educate and raise awareness about privacy. They’re helping businesses transform privacy from a compliance burden into a competitive advantage.

This year’s theme Privacy on Purpose highlights how proactive privacy management builds trust and demonstrates responsibility. Because doing privacy well isn’t just about compliance, it’s also good for business.

From AI governance and biometrics to Māori data sovereignty and health ethics, these sessions cover the most pressing privacy challenges and opportunities facing New Zealand organisations today. Hear Aotearoa’s leading privacy experts discuss:

  • What’s happening with privacy in New Zealand?
  • Deceived by design: the impact of dark patterns
  • Privacy by design for systems and software
  • How biometric tech is shaping children’s lives
  • Māori data sovereignty
  • What have we learned from two years of popular AI tools?
  • Privacy in the age of new tech
  • How to get ahead of risks before they become breaches

The webinars are free, but registration is required.
