NZTech Inform: Building digital trust for a stronger Aotearoa

Kia ora,

As we continue to navigate rapid digital transformation, one thing is becoming incredibly clear – trust is now the cornerstone of our digital future.

Whether we’re enabling public services, building responsible AI, or creating seamless online experiences, we need to ensure trust is built in at every level. That’s why I’m really looking forward to the Digital Trust Hui Taumata 2025 on 12 August at Te Papa.

This one-day national event brings together leaders from across government, industry, and tech to take action on digital identity, trust infrastructure and the systems that will underpin our digital economy.

Solving our national digital identity challenges is key to unlocking a highly productive, tech-enabled future for Aotearoa – it’s a core building block of our digital public infrastructure. Back in May, at our Techweek event with AWS, Rod Drury threw down the gauntlet, “Digital identity is the next big thing we need to solve, and we should do it by Christmas”. The Hui is our opportunity to bring the right people into the room to solve this for the benefit of all New Zealanders. Will I see you there?

What to expect

We’ve designed the Hui to be action-focused with expert insights, sponsor showcases and audience-led discussions. The programme covers:

  • Regulatory and policy enablers
  • Identity for people, legal entities and machines
