The platform is a Government investment of up to $70 million over seven years to strengthen New Zealand’s AI research capability and commercialisation to build enduring competitive advantage. It’s a huge opportunity which is why we’re hosting the info hub and sharing updates.

Have your say: shaping NZ’s tech policy

Last week the BlockchainNZ Digital Assets Parliamentary Working Group kicked off with great engagement from across the political spectrum. With representatives from regulators and 15 MPs from four political parties attending two events, we’re pleased understanding how to better enable this growth opportunity for New Zealand has increased immensely. During the past year, over $8b in investment in digital assets was made by Kiwis offshore. There’s also an increasing number of NZ grown, globally successful blockchain businesses around the world.

This is just one example of collaborative policy development supported by our communities in our NZTech Group. We’re bringing together our government, industry and academic members for much needed quick wins for Aotearoa. If you’d like to get involved, please email me.

Here’s key dates for members across the NZTech Group: Nominations for the Digital Identity NZ Executive Council close on 3 November. Voting for the FinTechNZ Executive Council closes on 22 October. Voting for the AI Forum Executive Council Elections closes on 29 October.
