NZTech Inform – Sharing our story!

Two years since the first case of COVID-19 was recorded in New Zealand, it’s encouraging to see the country settling into the next phase. Last week, I was in Wellington visiting members and staying connected with colleagues at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) and IT Professionals as we begin the delivery stage of our Industry Transformation Plan. Everyone was practising excellent health and safety protocols, which meant we were able to meet in person. However, on Saturday morning, waking with a sore throat, we drove to our local testing station for a rapid antigen test (RAT). Less than 15 minutes later, a negative result and we were able to continue with our day.  On Sunday morning, we were at Orewa Surf Life Saving Club supporting our daughter’s group training.  Even with pandemic protocols, including capacity limits and other requirements, we’re redefining normality.

Last week, we celebrated the launch of New Zealand’s Tech and Innovation Story, We See Tomorrow First. In case you missed it, we recorded the webinar, hosted by David Downs. Watch the webinar here and explore our brand new website www.seetomorrowfirst.nz, plus view the digital toolkit at NZ Story here. Help yourself to zoom backgrounds, slide decks, social media and more. There are so many ways to make the Story your own, like:

I’m looking forward to We See Tomorrow First featuring at Techweek22, 16-22 May, with this year’s theme, Connecting for a better Tomorrow.  There are also plans underway to activate the Story regionally and scoping for an international pilot programme in a priority market.

The Tech Story set out to attract investment, talent and increase exports for New Zealand tech businesses. Already, I’ve received plenty of positive feedback about the ways businesses can use We See Tomorrow First and I’m confident it will have a long lasting impact.

Have a great week.

Ngā mihi,
