Unlocking AI’s potential

Kia ora,

We’re looking forward to tomorrow’s launch of the AI Forum’s report, AI in Action: Exploring the Impact of Artificial Intelligence on New Zealand’s Productivity.

The findings highlight AI’s transformative role, showcasing high adoption rates, significant boosts in worker efficiency, minimal job displacement and the emergence of new career opportunities. The research will continue to track AI’s evolving impact, providing policymakers and business leaders regular insights to guide decisions on AI investment, regulation and integration in New Zealand. This will no doubt also be a topic of discussion at next week’s Aotearoa AI Summit in Auckland.

This week we’re also excited to be supporting Tech24. This is an opportunity for more than 300 students to experience a tech career first hand. Plus, check out the highlights from ShadowTech Day 2024, view here.

If you’re interested in sustainability, there’s a session on disruptive climate tech at next week’s Climate Change and Business Conference.

TechBee is currently accepting applications and HCLTech is generously offering 20 placements for a free one-year training programme, including a paid internship and employment opportunities.

The Waikato Tertiary Tech Alliance is developing an apprenticeship programme for the region and is seeking industry feedback, so please share your views here. Learn more about Waikato’s diverse and growing tech scene here.

In other news, nominations for the IoT Alliance close today and BlockchainNZ election results will be announced on 28 August. Voting for BioTechNZ’s Executive Council closes on Thursday.
