This week we’re in Melbourne at the 2024 AI Leadership Summit. It’s organised by the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) in collaboration with the National AI Centre. We’ll be discussing AI aspirations, leadership governance and regulation, the evolution of work, and education and skills. We will be exploring technology and infrastructure, plus business innovation and productivity. This event will provide critical insights for our region and help us lead the way in our evolving AI landscape.
Our AI: in Action: Exploring the Impact of AI on New Zealand’s Productivity report is progressing to the second phase of research. There are still partnership opportunities available with options for both small businesses and larger organisations. This is a fantastic chance to be featured and support our important research. If you’d like to know more, please confirm your interest by Thursday.
In other news, the new report, Digital Horizons: Unlocking New Zealand’s Digital Trade Potential with Southeast Asia explores opportunities and challenges for businesses. It’s also great to see our important work featured in IAPP Research and Insights latest Global AI Law and Policy Tracker.
We also attended the first Pacific Data Sovereignty Workshop at the Fale o Samoa in Mangere. Hosted by Moana Connect, this was the first in a series of planned events aimed at establishing a unified voice and collective guardianship and advocacy of data and information about Pacific peoples living in Aotearoa New Zealand. Thanks to Karaitiana Taiuru from our Kāhui Māori and Matt Ensor (Chair of our LLM Working Group) for their valued contributions on the day.
Lastly, ahead of our Annual Meeting on 13 November, voting is now open for all members.
