Kia ora,
As we power through the final quarter of 2024, there are still plenty of wonderful opportunities to connect with the EdTech and education community, grow your network, and access support for you and your business.
There’s still time to register for the Safer Technologies for Schools (ST4S) briefing on 6 November, hosted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Education Services Australia (ESA).
For teachers, two stand out in-person events are coming up: the Google Educator Conference on 21 November and the AI in Education (AIinED) conference on 28 January 2025.
If you missed our Annual Meeting on Monday 21 October you can watch the recording here. The meeting included updates on EdTechNZ’s Council work, plans for 2024/25, and introductions to our current and new Council members. There were also guest appearances from some of our EdTechNZ members.
In member news, a big congratulations to Mission Ready HQ for being named Provider of the Year 2024 for the second consecutive year, as well as winning the Supreme Award at the ITENZ Excellence Awards in October. Additionally, we’d like to congratulate the team at ByteEd for their nomination as a finalist in the Best Product to Promote STEM/Robotics/Coding category at the GESS Education Awards 2024, held this November in Dubai. Good luck!
A warm welcome to our new members, MāoriLab, LearnCoach and BSI – we’re excited to feature and engage them in our ecosystem. And a big welcome back to NZTE! If you’re looking to expand internationally, we recommend working with this government trade agency to unlock growth opportunities abroad.
Lastly, a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to EdTechNZ’s call to add your voice to the Ministry of Educations (MOE) consultation on realising the potential for technology in personalised learning.
We will be sharing your collective insights in November as part of this critical conversation.
Ngā mihi
Alana Pellow Deputy Chair
EdTech NZ
