Kia ora, Goedemorgen readers,
After a crazy busy Techweek it was wonderful to have last week off with the family to visit old friends in Amsterdam. We lived here for a number of years prior to returning to New Zealand in 2013. This country is super tech’d up. The Netherlands is ranked number one for connectivity in Europe and number four for digitisation.
Given all this, you might be surprised that they are keen to connect with and learn from New Zealand about being a Digital Nation. This week I am presenting at the BTG Business event about digital nations and New Zealand’s journey to becoming one. I am also having discussions about agritech and govtech while here.
I am proud to be Kiwi when people tell me how much they respect the way New Zealand operates in the global community. Our reputation for caring about the environment and people, for producing high quality healthy food, and for being hard working and creative is translating into a belief that we are good at govtech, agritech, cleantech and creativetech.
Speaking of doing the right thing, in case you missed last week’s update, the NZTech Board encourages anyone wishing to do something to support the Christchurch Call to visit the InternetNZ website. Check out the discussion forum and get involved.
Lastly, we are looking for five new members for the NZTech Board. If you’re interested, get your nominations in now as the deadline for nominations is 5pm on 20 June.
