Visit Tech AllianceSurvey Findings: IT professionals more content and record lows want to leave NZ
2016 is already well on its way and as promised we have some of the results from the recent Job Seeker Survey that was done before Christmas.
Our latest survey results show tech professionals in New Zealand are becoming more content with their current working conditions as 86% believing their current workplace is a good place to be.
Not only are New Zealanders more content with their workplaces but we are also seeing a record low number of Kiwis who want to leave our shores to work overseas (only 9% want to leave in 2016).
The quest for work/life/balance is still a strong driver for IT job seekers. Flexible working conditions is rated as the number one rated non-financial benefit by 46% of IT professionals, this is up 4% from last year.
The good news is that employers are listening and there is a steady rise year on year of employers who are offering flexible working conditions as an extra salary package benefit.
We are also seeing that employers in New Zealand are upping their game to keep and attract their IT talent, with IT professionals getting regular increases and more benefits and bonuses.
It seems that the wonderful lifestyle that New Zealand offers combined with favorable working conditions in a dynamic and fast growing IT sector is resulting in a very happy IT workforce.
We’ve put together a blog focusing in on some of the key information from the survey. Below is a snippet on what it is about and some links that include the full PDF survey summary.
