Join us for a conversation with local and international voices across the EdTech and NZ Inc agency community who will share their experience and insights on success and the tough truths of EdTech export readiness.
Despite significant growth and high demand globally for EdTech services and solutions, New Zealand’s EdTech exporters face several barriers on their export journey. To make it easier for our EdTech community to get to market quickly and achieve export success, we will look at the insights and support they need. We will explore what more can be done to super charge our EdTech communities export readiness and growth.

Alana Pellow
- Business Development Manager - Education New Zealand
Alana’s career spans 35 years across the education sector in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Africa and Asia. Starting her professional life as a newly qualified teacher in London she has worked in teacher and education recruitment for private enterprise, a global professional body, and the University of Auckland. Her experience ranges from sales and marketing, student support and retention, programme management, communications and relationship development to strategy and people management. Currently Alana is a Business Development Manager for Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao supporting the Education Products and Services export community. Alana is also the current Vice Chair for EdTechNZ’s executive Council. Alana considers herself a connector, stakeholder champion and a doer.

The use of technology to unleash untapped potential is the thing that drives me. 20+ years experience working in the education and technology sectors, having managed and consulted on numerous projects of national interest. Key area of expertise - the intersection between culture and technology to provide highly impacting outcomes. Currently delivering the Te Huakirangi technology programme where rangatahi Māori pathway into highly skilled, well paid technology jobs.

Founder & CEO of EdTech ByteEd, his team's mission is to assist teachers and students to create digital technologies rather than just being users. Peter believes in the importance of equity in education, thus their solution, Play Code Learn offers hands-on learning without the need of a screen.
Van Bahn
- Market Manager – Vietnam - Education New Zealand | Manapou ki te Ao
Van is Education New Zealand’s Market Manager for Vietnam, responsible for leading the international education efforts in Vietnam. Based in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the New Zealand Consulate General, Van supports New Zealand education and skills organisations to develop and deliver the local marketing strategy and government relations opportunities in Vietnam across different sectors from secondary to tertiary education.
Prior to joining ENZ, Van served as Business Development Manager for International Enterprise Singapore, a government agency that drives the external economy wing of Singapore. She led multiple initiatives in bringing Singapore investments into Vietnam in different sectors ranging from Infrastructure, Logistics, to Retail, Technology/Start-up and Education. In addition to multinational business development experience, Van was also leading the Marketing Communications Department at LogiGear, a Silicon Valley-based software testing company with more than 800 engineers in Vietnam
Naoual Haddouch
- NZTE Trade & Commercial Advisor - New Zealand Trade and Enterprise
NZTE Trade & Commercial Advisor IMEA based in the Dubai office.
Managing Tech and Services including Health, Education and Aviation. Naoual has Moroccan roots and is a Dutch National. She graduated with honours from University of Applied Science Rotterdam with a dual degree in Business Administration and Project Management.
She moved to Dubai in 2008 where her first job was with DMCC as a business development executive. Since then she has worked in several government entities in the UAE as an executive director, business development director and in senior client relationship roles with a variety of consulting and business services companies.
Amy Bucher
- Head of Education Products - ADInstruments
The Education Product Team develops Lt, an online content delivery platform that delivers to tertiary life science educators and instructors. Lt has been a winner or finalist of several international awards including: the EdTech Breakthrough Awards 2022, Content Provider Solution at The EdTech Awards by EdTech Digest 2022, and as an Honorable Mention at the IMS Global Learning Impact Awards 2022. Through her 15 year tenure at ADInstruments, Amy has been involved in developing the ADInstruments Education Market through roles in Sales, Business Development and Product Management. She has been involved with collaborations with customers and professional societies on implementing current pedagogical frameworks within ADInstruments products, including Cornell University, American Physiological Society and Human Anatomy and Physiology Society. Currently, the Education Product Team has been partnering with companies and customers in order to expand Lt’s content offerings. Additionally, Amy has previously worked as a Physiology Instructor at The Pennsylvania State University, where she also conducted Cardiovascular Research.
Nara Chiluvuri
- VP of Product - Hāpara
Nara is the VP of Product at Hāpara, a K-12 EdTech startup from New Zealand that made the leap to Silicon Valley and is used by over 2000 School Districts and 2.5 Million students globally. He is a seasoned Product leader with over 20 years of product development/management experience in SaaS, Cloud and Enterprise solutions. He has been involved in 2 New Zealand startups in the healthcare and education domains over the last decade. His other experience includes delivering products and solutions globally to customers in New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Singapore across Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, Logistics, Utilities and Travel domains. Nara is passionate about end users, positive impact, has a passion for simplicity and innovation, loves building, mentoring and empowering teams.
