Greg Macpherson – from pharmacist to biotech entrepreneur

Join us as Greg Macpherson shares his inspiring journey and entrepreneurial spirit.

Greg has worked at the intersection of health and technology for more than 30 years. He graduated as a pharmacist and founded one of the first online pharmacies in New Zealand, before establishing the first licensed robotic dispensing facility in the country. Throughout his career Greg Macpherson has helped people overcome health challenges so they can achieve their potential. However, cellular aging remains the single biggest risk factor for poor health.

Recently, Greg founded the biotech company SRW Laboratories to explore new ingredients to support healthy aging. Aging is not set in stone and living a healthy, energetic and productive life beyond 100 is going to become achievable for post people under 60 today, he says. Greg is also the author of Harnessing the Nine Hallmarks of Aging.

About Greg Macpherson:

Greg is a rare combination of biotechnologist, futurist and pharmacologist. Throughout his career, a central theme emerged of helping people overcome health challenges, so that they can achieve their potential. It began when he graduated as a pharmacist and continued with him founding one of the first online pharmacies in New Zealand.

Not satisfied with breaking down barriers to accessible healthcare, Greg began looking at the safety of medicine delivery in New Zealand. This led to the formation of the first Government licensed robotic dispensing facility in the country.

More recently, Greg turned his attention to biotechnology, and specifically towards understanding cellular aging. Aging is now well established as the single biggest risk factor for poor health. With hundreds of billions spent solving age-related diseases without much success, researchers are now turning to ways to interact with the aging process to delay the impact these diseases have on our health.

In the last 10 years, Greg has been the Chief Executive Officer of a biotechnology company. He has spent thousands of hours researching cellular aging and meeting with global anti aging experts, as they slowly unpack the reasons our cells age. They are also exploring new ingredients to support healthy aging and improve human healthspan.

In 2020 Greg wrote Harnessing the Nine Hallmarks of Aging. Greg’s book simplifies the latest science behind why we age, making the knowledge that has come from these breakthroughs accessible.

Writing the book has helped Greg follow his dream: to help people around the world age better than previous generations, with vitality and energy, so that they can spend more time with the people they care about. He continues to research the field of aging.
