Improve Your Business with IoT

“The Internet of Things (IoT), sometimes referred to as the Internet of Objects, will change everything – including ourselves. It represents the next evolution of the Internet, taking a huge leap in its ability to gather, analyse and distribute data that we can turn into information, knowledge, and, ultimately wisdom.” (Cisco)

In this one-day intensive workshop, you will get to grips with IoT, understand the opportunities it offers and how you can exploit them. The workshop is designed for a broad audience: IoT will affect everything and everyone.

IoT is not something we can, or should ignore.  According to The McKinsey Global Institute, the innovation enabled by the Internet of Things is expected to drive as much as an additional $6.2tn in value to the global economy by 2025. In a world where everything is connected, the opportunities are enormous. The expectations are equally huge: consumers are coming to expect connected experiences in their everyday lives and tasks, and businesses must swiftly adapt through vastly improved products and services.

Topics we will cover include:

  • What is IoT, and why is it important?
  • IoT applications including real-world examples across industries (including banking, smart cities / smart grid, energy, environment, precise agriculture, transport and logistics, retail / consumer)
  • Data and sensors
  • The opportunities IoT presents for us all – improving quality of life, efficiency, and business
  • Enterprise risks and security considerations

The workshop is designed and delivered by Farhad Medhipour and Mohsen Pashna, experts in big data, robotics and automation, and data science.
