NZTech Update – Gratitude, tech talent and what’s on!

Hi Readers

It is with regret that I announce that Bennett Medary has stepped down from his role on the NZTech Board, following a six and a half year tenure. Bennett has been instrumental in the success of NZTech establishing itself as the leading voice of the tech community for New Zealand. Now that Bennett has completed transitioning new members onto the Board, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience, he has decided to step down.

Bennett has expressed how proud he is of the work that NZTech is doing and is comfortable to step away now that he knows that NZTech has a diverse and engaged Board, pursuing a strong and impactful agenda.

Bennett will continue to Chair the NZ Techweek Establishment Board working with the Techweek Team to design and establish a permanent and sustainable organisation. Bennett is strongly committed to our shared vision for New Zealand, and in true Bennett style, will always be available for a chat over coffee (but really he means wine…).

On a personal note, Deputy Chair, Rachel Kelly and I would like to thank Bennett for his support in assisting us into our roles. The NZTech team also wishes Bennett the absolute best in his future endeavours.

In other news, NZTech has been supporting the Looksee Wellington campaign to attract 100 senior developers to New Zealand during Techweek for pre-organised job interviews. The campaign has gone viral with over 1m views and more than 10,000 people registered for the 100 roles. They will all be pre-screened so it is not too late to let us know if you’ve got a role you would like filled in Wellington.

Best regards,

Mitchell

Chair
