Living digital lives

Kia ora,

There is so much happening in the world of tech that the year is flying by and this week it’s August. But first, welcome to Netsafety Week.

On Wednesday, I’m joining Meta’s Mia Garlick, Qubit Cyber’s Barry Greene and TikTok’s Jed Horner to discuss the future of online safety. During our webinar, we’ll be exploring the dynamic landscape of online safety and evolving trends.

I am looking forward to chatting with these people at the frontline of dealing with online safety to find out how different organisations are adapting to ensure a safe online experience for everyone and the role of AI to enhance safety. Join our lunchtime webinar this Wednesday (free for members) and gain valuable insights. Register here.

If you are interested in digital safety, don’t miss this opportunity to stay informed in the ever-changing world of online safety. Plus, if you’d like to know more, join us on 31 October at Wellington Dialogues, our tech policy conference on digital safety.

The AI Forum has published the AI Blueprint for Aotearoa. The blueprint prioritises six key sectors and is a call to action for all stakeholders, aiming to guide strategic investments during the next five years.

In other news, NZTech Board voting closes on Friday 2 August. Voting for the AgriTechNZ Executive Council closes on Tuesday. BlockchainNZ nominations have closed and voting will open on Wednesday 31 July. BioTechNZ is now accepting nominations.

Ngā mihi
