Across the NZTech group, an increasing number of our members have been collaborating on submissions to the Government, reinforcing the critical role of technology in shaping New Zealand’s future and ensuring policy frameworks are fit for purpose. Here are a few recent examples:

We already have sufficient laws in place and the proposed code will lead to many unintended consequences.
Opportunities to better inform Government agencies about the importance of tech and our sector are coming in rapid succession. Currently, members are collaborating on the following:

- Vocational education and training reforms
- Advice on licencing and access to banking for Web3 companies
- The future of eco-nomics: integrating environmental and economic measurement in Aotearoa New Zealand

In other news, nominations for the EdTechNZ Executive Council close today. Voting for the IoT Alliance Executive Council closes on 26 September. BioTechNZ’s election results will be announced on 18 September. Nominations are now open for the FinTechNZ Executive Council.
