As Aotearoa’s digital economy grows, so too does the need for a skilled, resilient workforce. We’re collaborating with the Toi Mai Workforce Development Council as we begin work on the 4th edition of Digital Skills Aotearoa. This important research will provide fresh insights into future skills demand, supply challenges and opportunities to strengthen our tech talent pipeline nationwide. We look forward to sharing progress with you in the coming months.
In the meantime, there’s plenty happening across the NZTech community including EdTechNZ’s next webinar, Digital Identity NZ’s virtual coffee chat series and AgriTechNZ’s inaugural Agritech Unleashed event on 8 May in Hawkes Bay.
✨ What’s on at Techweek25?
New events are being added daily and we have an incredible lineup of events spanning the country from May 19-25. There’s something for everyone at Techweek25, but here’s our highlights so far.
Kicking off Techweek25 is our launch event Collective Imagining: A Brighter, Tech-Enabled Future for Aotearoa, hosted by our Principal Sponsor for 2025 and beyond, Deloitte in Auckland, setting the tone for a week of innovation and collaboration.
For those fascinated by emerging technologies, the AI Forum’s AI in Creative Industries Summit in both Auckland and Wellington will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming creative industries. If you’re looking to scale your business, don’t miss Exporter Connect in Christchurch or Growth Jam Competitive Advantage in Wellington.
Other highlights across the motu include TUANZ’s Connecting Aotearoa Summit in Hamilton, the NZ Hi-Tech Awards Gala dinner in Wellington, TechFest in Christchurch, and Host-Tech in Queenstown.
Following recent meetings with a Japanese trade mission and the European Union Ambassador, it’s clear there is strong international interest in partnering with New Zealand’s tech sector. It’s a timely opportunity for local firms to expand into global markets.
Wishing you a safe, relaxing and happy Easter break. Enjoy the time to recharge with whānau and friends!
Ngā mihi nui,
