Digital Identity in Aotearoa: Identity and Trust in an Increasingly Digital New Zealand

Digital Identity New Zealand is proud to present Digital Identity in Aotearoa: Identity and Trust in an Increasingly Digital New Zealand, the first of its kind research report looking into the current state of digital identity in Aotearoa and what the future holds.

This report compiles our annual attitudinal research that aims to detect trends and shifts in people’s views on personal information, how they feel about sharing it to gain the benefits of digital access to services and entitlements, their online behaviour to guard against fraud and their challenges.

The report provides context for the emerging legislative environment and the challenges being faced by stakeholders. It includes recommendations for the industry to grow and thrive that are divided into four key themes:

  1. Build trust
  2. Increase education and understanding
  3. Drive confidence and engagement
  4. Develop the Digital Identity sector
