Latest News: ‘The merge’ – no small feat

This past Thursday there was a noteworthy event in the crypto space. The Ethereum main chain was upgraded from a proof-of-work consensus algorithm to a proof-of-stake one. Like a train switching from an old well-worn track to a shiny new one, it went seamlessly, which is a big win for Ethereum, but also for open source developers who had been planning the transition for the past seven years.

NZTech Inform – discovering AI in action

Today, I am attending the Aotearoa AI Summit in Auckland, where I will join a panel to discuss the developing National AI Strategy. This annual gathering of the AI community is a great place to hear about the latest use of AI in action. Tomorrow, I will be in Wellington meeting the CEO’s of the Ministry of Education and the Tertiary Education Commission to discuss combined initiatives to attract students into tech career pathways.
